RE: Gonna be driving a school bus! UPDATE: 10-15-09

if you are driving a flat fronted bus one way to tell where you are at is to put your left knee close to the side of the bus and check with your mirrors where the bus is at on the road. after adjusting a few times you will be able to have the bus where you want to. i hope this helps.

RE: I think I should have more power

a diesel to run well needs large amounts of air and the right amounts of fuel.i agree that i would change your fuel filter first and if that did not do it i would check your air cleaner. read the owners manuel there is a filter restriction gauge on the air cleaner. hope this helps.

RE: Problems with frame of 5th, please advise (UPDATE) Repair

if you do not know where to go look in the yellow pages for weilding shops then call and ask who works on truck and trailer frames. there is quite a science to fixing them and building right. cross check the shops by going to trucking companies and see who does their repair work or check with your insurance agent.choosing the right shop is critical but the good thing is it will not be all that expensive to stiffen and gusset the frame. hope this helps.i would fix it before using on any camping trips.

RE: Warranty for Keystone Raptor is a joke

that is the main reason i bought from northwood manufacturing. i call the 800 number and they tell me where to take it and it is fixed. my suggestion to you is to call the manufacturer and see if you can take it somewhere in the area to have it fixed. hope this helps.

RE: Desert Fox or Heartland Razor? which would you buy?

we have a o6 28ks and are really happy with it. one small problem with one of northwoods suppliers and no problem getting it fixed. if you have any problems call matt at northwood the phone number is 1-800-ron-nash and he can help with where to take it if traveling. we snowbird with ours from north pole alaska to kentuckey and back during winter season. if i can help with any question e-mail me.

RE: KUDOS to Northwood Manufacturing

we also had very good luck with our desert fox. the one problem that we had was taken care of by matt at the factory with no problem.if we buy another one it will be one of theirs but the one we have works very well for us.

RE: Watson Lake

when the alcan was gravel it was a lot better than when they paved it. when i first came up it in 1975 the canadians had the maintance down to a science. they kept it well graded with calcium chloride mixed in the top and it was great but you rig got dirty people complaigned and they paved it and what happened ground moved could not just blade and the large pot holes and frost heaves resulted.

RE: Double towing in Canada/Alaska

i asked the guys at the state scale coming into alaska about double towing and i have a cdl with all the endorsements but it is by special premit only in the state and they do not give out from the canadian boarder to the richardson highway and the highway goes by the scale and no way around and he said quote if i see you i will make you unhook and write you a very expensive ticket and call for a wrecker to get it off of highway.

RE: Walter Cronkite has died

mr. cronkite was a real man and a heck of a newscaster. there is no one now to fill his boots, which is a shame all the news readers would not know how to research and a do story from start to finish than the man in the moon.

RE: An RV question regarding the pathetic economy!

the newspaper had a article last week that stated that tourists were off 30% and from what i see i beleive they are right but we are at the end of a long trip up the highway and the tour companies are not lowering their prices on the boats that i know of. but santa clause is still here. lol.
